Step 1: We dove deep into our Meta ad account to see which ads were actually performing.
By the way, we always run multiple ads at once. Constantly testing. Constantly optimizing. You should be doing this too if you’re running ads.
Anyway, we found our top performer. This ad had generated serious sales over multiple sessions.
So we dissected it to understand why it performed.
We found that the copy was spot on. It really connected with people. And it made perfect sense because our client targets managers and executives.
This copy was speaking directly to what these people desired at a deeper level. Promotions. Recognition. Respect from their peers. All achievable by mastering public speaking skills, which is exactly what our client teaches.
Boom.
Step 2: We took our original landing page and duplicated it.
Then we created a brand new, specific landing page just for people who clicked on this particular ad.
Step 3: We changed the headlines and sub headlines on this new page so they’d actually match the ad copy’s messaging.
This is where the magic happened.
The original landing page had this okay, but kind of generic headline. It said something like:
“Discover the speaking system to communicate with confidence, clarity and credibility so you can know exactly what to say next and not sound like an amateur during meetings and presentations.”
Decent. But it wasn’t really speaking to those deeper desires I mentioned earlier.
So on our new specific landing page, we switched it up. The new headline sounded like this:
“Discover the speaking system that makes you sound like a natural leader every time you open your mouth.”
And we twisted the knife a bit in the sub headline by adding this line:
“Stop watching others get recognition, promotions, and influence while your brilliant ideas go unheard.”
Then we talked about earning respect through mastering a 3 step framework.
See what we did there?
We made sure the landing page headlines supported and complimented what was in the ad copy.
This is the secret sauce of landing page conversion that most people completely miss.
Why Message Match Is the Key to Landing Page Conversion
Think about it.
Someone sees your ad and thinks, “Yeah, this is actually my problem. I want to solve this.” And they click on it.
You want that landing page to keep supporting that same feeling. Keep nudging them forward.
Not confuse them or make them think, “Wait, what happened to all that talk about promotions and earning respect?”
